UGA Tuba Euph News


Congrats to our most recent graduates from the studio, all four of whom come from the graduate school. Clare Brennan graduateed with an MM in Tuba Performance. She has been awarded the Gradtuate Teaching Assistantship at the University of Oregon, where she will begin her DMA in the fall. Three students graduated with their Doctorate in Musical Arts: Chris Leslie and Fernando Deddos on Euphonium and Rachel Matz on Tuba. All of these students have distinguished themselves in significant ways during their time at UGA and have brilliant careers ahead of them. Go Dawgs!


A warm welcome to the incoming class of Fall 2016. Looking forward to having you join the studio family! New euphonium students include Eric Dluzniewski (DMA), Max Grand, Blake Hyman and Brandon Ramcharran (Music minor). New tubists include Nick Beltchev (MM), Elvis Yang, Derrick Wright, and Gavin Walker.

Congrats to Patrick Young (MM Tuba) for advancing to the semi final round of the 2016 Leonard Falcone Competition. Also, Congrats to Tim Morris(MM Euph) and Eric Dluzniewski(new DMA Euph) for being named alternates

Chris Leslie wins West Point Band Audition

Congrats to Chris Leslie for winning the recent audition for the Ubited States Military Academy Band. Chris will ship to basic training this summer and join the band in the fall. He will be filling the spot vacated by UGA Alum Jason Ham. Go Dawgs!

Congrats to Fernando Deddos, New Professor of Low Brass at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte

Fernando will return to Brazil in January to assume the position of Professor of Low Brass in Natal. They are fortunate to have acquired on of the finest low brass musicians in the world! Bravo, Fernando!
