Audition Season is Here!

The application deadline for Undergrads of January 15 is quickly approaching! I anticipate accepting up to four new tubists and the same number of euphoniums! Scholarship opportunities are available! Looking forward to hearing some great auditions!

Study Abroad Opportunity

Professor Zerkel will be teaching in Alessandria, Italy this summer as part of UGA's Study Abroad Program! The dates are May 11-30, 2015. There is room for up to 8 students for this experience. Students will have three lessons a week, daily chamber music coaching and an opportunity to learn about Jazz through study with our Jazz faculty. To learn more, click here

UGA will once again host the Southeast Tuba Euphonium Workshop, July 5-11, 2015! Faculty will consist of Ben Pierce, Matt Shipes, Demondrae Thurman and David Zerkel. More details soon!

There Are Doctors in the House!

Congratulations to three recent completed DMAs in the studio: Simon Wildman, David McLemore and Matt Shipes. Dr. Wildman is a member of The United States Marine Band (President's Own), Dr. Shipes is a member of The United States Air Force Ceremonial Brass, and Dr. McLemore is on the faculty of Young Harriis College.

Professor Zerkel to Perform at Western Carolina University Low Brass Workshop and Janfest

Along with Dr. Josh Bynum, Professor of Trombone at UGA, DZ will be a featured guest artist at WCU's Low Brass Assembly on January 16 and 17 in beautiful Culowee, NC. On January 23 at 2:00 PM, he will also perform at the UGA January Festival as soloist with The Collins Hill High School Symphonic Wind, performing the first movement of the Gregson Tuba Concerto.
